Altinn Access in AdminFlow
What’s new?
AdminFlow now keeps Altinn access synchronized automatically based on roles and client assignments in AdminFlow.
In most cases, you do not need to manage Altinn access manually. When you are assigned to a new client or your role changes in AdminFlow, your Altinn access will be updated during the next synchronization.
This makes it easier to:
- get access to new clients
- remove access that is no longer needed
- keep Altinn permissions up to date with less manual work
How do I get access in Altinn?
Your Altinn access is based on:
- the role you have in AdminFlow
- which clients you are connected to
Roles that control Altinn access
Role in AdminFlow | Access in Altinn |

Accountant with signature rights | Submission and signing on behalf of the client |
Accountant without signature rights | Read only access without signing rights |

You only receive access to the clients you actually work with in AdminFlow.
When are permissions updated?
Altinn access is synchronized automatically every night.
This means that if you are assigned to a new client today, your Altinn access will normally be available the next morning.
If access is needed sooner, an administrator can start a manual synchronization from:
Settings → External Systems
What happens when my role or client changes?
Changes in AdminFlow are included in the next synchronization to Altinn.
New client
When you are assigned to a new client in AdminFlow, access will be added in Altinn during the next synchronization.
Client removed
If you are removed from a client, the corresponding Altinn access will also be removed during the next synchronization.
Role changes
If your role changes, your Altinn permission package will be updated during the next synchronization.
Changing ProjectAccountant
If another employee takes over as ProjectAccountant, the Altinn access will be transferred to the new responsible person during the next synchronization.
My Altinn access is missing. What should I do?
If you are missing access to a client in Altinn, we recommend checking the following:
- Make sure you have the correct role in AdminFlow
- Make sure you are connected to the correct client
- Wait for the nightly synchronization to complete
- Ask your administrator to run a manual synchronization if needed
If the issue continues, contact support.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to do anything manually in Altinn?
No. Access is managed through AdminFlow and synchronized automatically.
How long does it take before I receive access?
Normally until the next nightly synchronization.
Administrators can also start a manual synchronization if access is needed immediately.
What happens if I stop working with a client?
Your Altinn access to that client will be removed during the next synchronization.
Can administrators update access immediately?
Yes. Administrators can start a manual synchronization directly from AdminFlow.
